After a devastating fire destroyed the third Saint Thomas Church building in 1905, the parish, under the leadership of Dr. Stires, VIII Rector, determined to rebuild at Fifth and Fifty-third. Eight years of planning and then construction followed, and on October 4, 1913 the parish gathered for the first worship service in the new stone structure.

Join us a century later, on October 6, for Dedication Sunday 2013 when we mark the beginning of what we pray will be yet another century of worship and ministry on our little corner of the great city. The Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys sing at 11am and 4pm, and are joined by the Saint Thomas Brass at the 11am Festal Eucharist.

Following the 11am Festal Eucharist, make your way up the Grand Stairwell for a special Coffee Hour in Andrew Hall, and then take time to see the first of five Centennial Exhibits in the living room on the second floor.

As always, Dedication Sunday serves as the launch of the Every Member Canvass, through which we annual recommit ourselves to our Lord, our parish, and our parish’s mission: to worship, love and serve our Lord Jesus Christ through the Anglican tradition and our unique choral heritage. Whether you are a long-time member, a newcomer, or an individual who has never set foot inside our church building but nevertheless worship with us via webcasts and the sermon archive, we ask you to consider the blessings the Lord provides you through the ministry of Saint Thomas Church and Choir School, and to pledge your support for 2014.
