Early in the history of the Church, the Christian community came to a set of theological understandings of what it means to be “Church.” One of these was the Church as “the body of Christ,” based on the epistles of St. Paul. In addition, the Nicene Creed affirms the Church as one, holy, catholic and apostolic.
Join us at Choral Evensong on each Sunday in Lent in 2015, as distinguished clergy from around the Diocese of New York preach on the nature of the Church. We invite everyone to attend in person, but please also know that all choral services are webcast live and then available on-demand. After each sermon is preached, the text and an audio file will become available within a few days following, available in the sermon archive.
This coming Sunday, March 1, The Rev’d Canon Blake Rider, Canon to the Ordinary of the Diocese of New York, will preach on the Church as the Body of Christ.
