Monday In Holy Week

Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross, may find it none other that the way of life and peace; through the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Acting Director of Music Benjamin Sheen presents this work by Marcel Dupré as a Holy Week musical meditation. No tickets required-Donation requested.

Originally a set of improvisations played during a reading of Paul Claudel’s verse meditations on the fourteen Stations of the Cross, Le Chemin de la Croix became one of Marcel Dupr√©’s favorite pieces. He played it every year during Lent at Saint-Sulpice in Paris. The hour-long score follows the Stations from the sentencing of Jesus to his entombment.
